Tyla

Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant

Tyla loves continuing her education because it improves her skills and offers her the credentials to perform various specialized services to keep her job challenging and rewarding while offering patients the best. As a CA State Licensed Certified Dental Assistant, she can use her experience and abilities working directly with patients to help provide the best care possible. Tyla takes both her responsibilities of keeping patients safe, assisting the doctors’ chair-side with x-rays, educating patients, and taking oral surgery very seriously. She appreciates that she can work with other highly-trained professionals to provide compassionate and personal experiences for the patient. While she finds her job extremely challenging and rewarding, she loves providing the care she does. When she isn’t working, she travels with her husband, trains for marathons, and hangs out with her animals, Gimley & Cooper.

Raquel

Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant

Raquel has been with Dr. Nakano for almost 4 years and has been an OMSA for 6 years. She is very caring and always ensures that her patients feel comfortable during their visits. She is so outstanding at putting patients at ease at their appointments and explaining the process of each procedure to keep the patient comfortable and informed. Raquel is devoted to coming to work every day with our patient’s comfort in mind. She is compassionate, gentle, and understanding. It’s no wonder patients consistently rave about her!

In her free time, Raquel enjoys putting together flower bouquets, crafting, cooking, and traveling.

Raquel is a huge asset to our team, as she is fluent in Spanish and American Sign Language.

Allison

Insurance Specialist

Allison has been working in the dental field with Dr. Nakano for 4 years. She has extensive experience and knowledge of dental insurance. She loves to assist patients with understanding and maximizing their benefits. As the insurance specialist Allison enjoys interacting with our patients while making sure they get the most from their experience. She is the one to call on with any financial and insurance coverage questions that you might have and help you handle all of your insurance claims.

When she isn’t at work she is found enjoying the outdoors, camping, traveling, or soaking up the sun at the river. Her bucket list is to cruise the Mediterranean, visit The Maldives and Greece.

Briana

Administrative Assistant

Bri is one of our treatment coordinators, joining our team in 2020. She is a friendly smile that you find at the front desk with a warm greeting when you arrive, answering your questions and calls, and helping you check out at the end of your appointment. She loves interacting with our patients and working with the staff here each day because everyone is wonderful, patient, kind, and helpful. As the treatment coordinator, she is passionate about helping others get past any hindrance of starting treatment and obtaining a healthy, beautiful smile. She loves being able to meet new faces personalities and building relationships. It is wondrous to be a part of a journey that changes people’s self-esteem and lives as a whole. She is here to make your oral surgery experience exceptional and personable.

While outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and shredding the mountain with her snowboard.

Cathy

Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant

Cathy’s enthusiasm for oral surgery is evident in the many hats she has worn within Dr. Nakano’s office since her arrival here 14 years ago. Always looking to increase her professional knowledge and experience, she has successfully transitioned from her initial role as Patient Coordinator to the clinical side and now to surgical assistant and Implant Coordinator. Cathy being an RDA and OMSA certified, has brought her commitment, compassion, and sense of humor–all of which come together to help her patients feel informed and well-cared for throughout their implant experience. Cathy brings this wealth of implant experience to the implant treatment plans for each patient she works with. Cathy’s educational background in Early Childhood Education is evident in her quiet, patient demeanor and accomplished teaching abilities while thoroughly explaining the implant process and financial information to our patients. Cathy strives for great patient care and makes our patients’ surgical experience comfortable and pleasant. We are very pleased to have Cathy on our team.

On her days off, she enjoys visiting her family in Utah, working on her new home, and hiking.

Christy

Certified Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant

Christy has been one of our clinical staff members for 4 years. Behind her beautiful smile is a woman passionate about getting to know all of our patients and making sure they receive quality service. She is quick to make patients feel at ease by building confidence, trust, and friendship. She is very experienced and knowledgeable in a wide range of oral and maxillofacial surgeries, from wisdom teeth to using state-of-the-art dental and implant techniques. She also encourages students to do the same while teaching at a local charter college. Christy has participated in various continuing educations courses and seminars through Oral-Facial Surgery, including BLS/H.I.P.A.A., OMSA, IV, A.A. Healthcare management, and RDA for the Oral Surgery Practice. She performs expanded functions in I.V. therapy and anesthesia, assisting Dr. Nakano.

She finds this specialty challenging but rewarding and feels fortunate to call this her career. Christy is committed to pursuing lifelong learning and growth in all areas of her life. She frequently researches new processes, protocols, or products for the practice; and participates in regular continuing education. When not at the office, she enjoys spending time with friends and family. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and weekend getaways.

Marissa

Administrative Assistant

We are very fortunate and elated to have had Marissa as a part of Dr. Nakano’s team since 2019. She is detail-oriented and will greet you with warmth and friendliness each time you walk through the door. Always having a kind and compassionate outlook, you will find her patient care exceptional. She has a very calming aura, which is extremely helpful, as dentistry and anxiety seem to go hand-in-hand for many of our patients. She loves working as part of a team that shares the goals of helping people and providing world-class dental care. Her kind heart and professionalism are a great asset to the team as a treatment coordinator. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time and making memories with her daughter. She enjoys trying new things, exploring new places, hiking, and shopping.

Dental Assistant

Devin is our newest assistant at Dr. Nakano’s office. In order to ensure the health and safety of our patients, Devin is always taking the next step to further his education This commitment sets him apart as he stays ahead of the curve. Devin prepares the surgical areas and practices impeccable infection control. Devin is proud to be part of the team as he strives for success. In his free time, he enjoys going paintballing with his friends and catching up on all of the latest movies.
